Room 201

I had the most wonderful weekend getaway with my mother, Cindy. We've never done this before and were looking forward to it for months. I wanted to give her a Mother's Day she would never forget. I've posted about Brenham, TX here and most recently here. It's my new favorite place in Texas. It's so small and charming and I find something new and amazing every time I go back. We left her house in Pipe Creek bright and early and had breakfast with my sister and nephew in San Antonio before the 2 hour drive to Brenham. We stayed in a cheapo motel the first night and then anxiously waited for 3 pm to check into the most fabulous hotel room we've ever seen.

It was perfect!! It was a corner room so it was filled with beautiful natural light. The antiques were exquisite. I only chose this room because it was the only one with two beds and I wanted maximum comfort for the both of us. After peeking into the different rooms, it was obvious we had the best one. It was well worth the $200 price tag. The innkeepers were so nice and helpful. Our room came with two luxurious robes that we didn't want to take off, there was a communal refreshment room with unlimited gourmet coffee, sodas and Blue Bell ice cream, a HUGE porch to relax on while overlooking the veranda and a board room filled with games and DVDs. Not to mention free breakfast the next morning. It was heavenly. I can't wait to go back.

I wanted to steal this lamp. So cute!

We stopped at a few places on the way into town. I loved this little house. It didn't look like anyone lived there for years. I'd live there! We stopped at Pleasant Hill Winery and took a few photos. I completely forgot to pay for our tastings and felt so horrible I had to go back and leave cash in the envelope.

My mama is so precious. I have the best time with her. She is so lighthearted and kind. Everywhere we went, mom was all "hello"s and "thank you"s. She puts a smile on everyone's face. I want to be more like that. I don't get to see her as much as I'd like.

You can follow her super cute Instagram @moondancer9266

 There's that smile!

Brenham is the hometown of Blue Bell ice cream so we had to pay a visit. I'm actually enjoying a bowl of mint chocolate chip while it type this. :)

Favorite moments:
1. Taking this photo
2. and this one
3. Listening to a great mixed CD my brother made us
4. Having a heart to heart on the steps of a huge abandoned Victorian House while the sun went down
5. watching A Room with a View on the back porch while it rained
6. pulling over and watching the horses run
7. Not letting the rain spoil our picnic and having it in a gazebo in the center of town
8. showing her my wedding venue for the first time and seeing the look on her face. She loved it.

  2. I have caught myself smiling from ear to ear while scrolling through this beautiful post. What an adventure! I love all the little details and drop dead gorgeousness of this little town in Texas. It looks like you and your mama had a perfect time! That empty house by the way? Is it weird to say I just want to move in it and make it work??!
