Fell on Black Days

I am one lucky lady. My darling, James, has incredible taste in music and bought us tickets to two Soundgarden concerts this past weekend. They were incredible! They're back together after 16 years. This is James all time favorite band and he never thought he'd get the chance to see them in concert. We actually moshed together. LOL! Good times, baby, good times.

Reading The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. I was inspired by my recent trip to New Orleans. I visited her old home where she lived when she wrote this. It's so interesting reading a description of a place I've actually been to. Very very good read!

Writing tons of postcards! Since joining Postcrossing I've sent and recieved about 40 postcards from all over the world. I'm addicted.

Listening to CSS and dancing my ass off. I love this band! They're coming to Austin on July 18th and I can't freakin' wait! I'll be there with my favorite girls and my love and we're gonna have one helluva night.

Thinking about this weekend. James and I are gonna see Soundgarden!! Twice!!!

Smelling Benefit's perfume Laugh with Me, Lee Lee. I'm addicted to this stuff and I'm on my third bottle.

Wishing my car would stop giving me shit.

Hoping everything goes well with my new job!

Wearing this again. Because I love it so much. ^_^

Loving my new venture into music! I recently joined a cover band and I'm the over excited new singer.

Wanting a fabulous summer full of new adventures with family and friends.

Needing to work my butt off quite literally. I finally have the drive to workout seriously and get my ass into sweet shape.

Feeling overwhelmed by all the new changes in my life. Especially my new job. I start next week and I'm getting anxious! More on that later...

Lovely Ladies: Lovefoxxx

I can't stop listening to Cansei de Ser Sexy (CSS). They music is so wonderful and it makes me happier than any other band ever. I recently bought concert tickets to see them in July at Emo's. I cannot fucking wait! In the words of their song Left Behind, "I'm gonna jump on to the table and dance my ass off till I die!". Their lead singer, Lovefoxxx (Luisa Hanae Matsushita), is my dream girl. She looks like fun and is incredible in concert! I have so much envy when I see her on stage. I wish I could run away and join their band forever. Lovefoxxx, lets be friends.

This one time...

I was staying with my friend Dallas' house in San Antonio. We were just relaxing and having some beers with her husband Manni. Dallas was trying to open her sliding glass door to the backyard and it kept getting stuck. So she called to Manni in their bedroom, "Manni, the door is stuck again!" and then went to the bathroom.
A few minutes later, out comes Manni, walking with purpose. He heads straight for the sliding glass door and starts squirting some pink substance into the door's track.

I ask, "Manni, what is that?"
"It's lube"
"Like... sex lube? Why is it pink?"
"It's strawberry flavored!"

Hahaha! I'm actually laughing as I write this. It was so funny. He was completely nonchalant about it and emptied the entire bottle. And it worked! The door opened up perfectly after that... until the next morning. Dallas tries to open the door again and notices the sticky puddle.

"Manni, what the fuck is this!?"

Borrowed and Blue

My dear sweet Mary was kind enough to let me borrow her gorgeous summer dress that she made with her own two hands. Isn't that amazing!? I really love this dress. Lucky for me, we're exactly the same size! Yessssss. We were both really excited when we discovered that.
I just learned how to sew but I'm nowhere near this level. I can't wait to make dresses of my own! Especially vintage inspired pieces like this one. Mary and I are planning on having weekly sewing sessions at her house in south Austin. She turned her spare bedroom into her sewing quarters and I love it! We're gonna be dress making machines! Coming soon, a post all about Mary, her badass sewing skills and her 3 rambunctious pugs. Thank you for letting me share this dress, Schmarebear!

Cinemanic Monday: "If I'm not successful, it won't be distressful cause I don't care!"

I think this is my first Judy Garland post! I can't believe it. I love love love Judy!. She was amazing. In the Good Old Summertime is one of my favorite Judy movies. I just realized she was my age when she made this in 1948. It's a much earlier version of You've Got Mail. Sorry Tom and Meg, this movie totally kicked your movie's ass. My mama and I used to love watching this together. It's a wonderful film. About twice a year I'll pop this into the DVD player and watch all the songs and sing along. It makes me so happy.

This post deserves some music to go along with it. Push play!

I just love that adorable red pout.
Judy and her handsome co-star, Van Johnson.

I love this scene. They're so cute together. Her voice is heavenly.

This was Liza Minnelli's film debut! 3 years old and cute as a button.

This is such a great song! "I Don't Care" I live by these lyrics.

Buster Keaton's in this too! Awesome bonus.

In the Good Old Summertime (1949)
The Shop Around the Corner (1940)
You've Got Mail (1998)

The Shop Around the Corner looks so charming! Jimmy Stewart was so cute. I'll have to watch that soon.
