Haunted City

I'm back from vacation and we had a great time. James and I went to Disney World and I can't wait to show you all the pictures. First, I thought I'd share our little stop in New Orleans, Louisiana on the way home.
I found this great little place to stay on Airbnb. It was this little one bedroom apartment in a finished basement of someone's lovely home. We settled in for a bit, listened to some jazz on the radio and walked a couple of blocks to this happenin' restaurant and bar called the Ye Olde College Inn. The fried green tomatoes were delicious!
This abandoned house was directly across the street and I loved the colors and especially the giant moss covered tree.
After breakfast, I navigated us to 1239 First St to see this amazing house. It was built in 1857 and was once owned by one of my favorite authors, Anne Rice. This house inspired her to write some of her novels like the Mayfair Witches series. I picked it up at Half Priced Books today and this house is on the cover.
I thought this was a great time to finally wear my vintage Adam & Eve dress I bought on eBay a few months ago. I'm still swooning over this print.
I really loved this city. It's a shame we couldn't be there longer. We're definitely going to have to plan another trip soon. I still have to visit those romantic cemeteries and beautiful swamps.

  9. Even though I'm a transplant to the south (Atlanta) I still haven't made it to New Orleans. Wow. Your photos make me want to go. You really captured the beauty and feel of it. Your accommodations look fabulous too. I'm bookmarking the page so I can remember. I love the way you look perfectly at home there: romantic and easy. Gorgeous.
