I'm back from vacation and we had a great time. James and I went to Disney World and I can't wait to show you all the pictures. First, I thought I'd share our little stop in New Orleans, Louisiana on the way home.
I found this great little place to stay on Airbnb. It was this little one bedroom apartment in a finished basement of someone's lovely home. We settled in for a bit, listened to some jazz on the radio and walked a couple of blocks to this happenin' restaurant and bar called the Ye Olde College Inn. The fried green tomatoes were delicious!
This abandoned house was directly across the street and I loved the colors and especially the giant moss covered tree.
After breakfast, I navigated us to 1239 First St to see this amazing house. It was built in 1857 and was once owned by one of my favorite authors, Anne Rice. This house inspired her to write some of her novels like the Mayfair Witches series. I picked it up at Half Priced Books today and this house is on the cover.
I thought this was a great time to finally wear my vintage Adam & Eve dress I bought on eBay a few months ago. I'm still swooning over this print.
I really loved this city. It's a shame we couldn't be there longer. We're definitely going to have to plan another trip soon. I still have to visit those romantic cemeteries and beautiful swamps.
Yay Disney! I'm going to Disneyland this summer. :) Your photos of New Orleans are beautiful. I've always wanted to go. Everyone I know who has been, loved it. I just found your blog today and it is really lovely. Glad you had a great trip. :)

I know! I want to live there. I can't wait to go back to the Garden District and walk around some more. It's incredible.
DeleteOh my. There are too many things in this post making me miss the south. We don't have Half Price Books in LA. TOTAL BUMMER. And fried green tomatos? Yes. I love the drive from texas to florida. I used to do it every summer. Lovely photos, mama!

Your accommodations look fabulous too. I'm bookmarking the page so I can remember. I love the way you look perfectly at home there: romantic and easy. Gorgeous.
