Cinemanic Monday: "You need sortin' out, you do."

Another Netflix gem. Fish Tank follows 15-year-old Mia through the slums of East London. She lives with an absent mother and bratty little sister. The first part of the film shows her wandering around abandoned buildings, drinking 40's and seeks a more glamorous existence by aspiring to become a hip hop dancer.
Then Michael Fassbender shows up on screen and I instantly remember why this was in my Netflix queue. His character, Connor, is Mia's mother's flavor of the month. Let's just feast our eyes on this delicious flavor for a moment. Just imagine waking up to this in your kitchen...
Michael Fassbender - life ruiner. For Mia, and myself, he comes into her life and shakes shit up. He. Is. So. Beautiful. I first developed a screen crush on him when I saw Inglorious Basterds.  I added every one of his films in my queue. I really liked this film. I've watched it multiple times. It's not very exciting to watch but I've always liked movies that show true emotions. There's so much humanity in Fish Tank.
There are some really nice scene where Mia is trying to free a chained horse. The poor thing is mistreated and it's very symbolic to her situation.
