What is left to say about Singin' in the Rain? Just thinking about it makes me smile and I start to sing those catchy tunes. You're every thought, you're everything, you're every song I ever sing. Summer, winter, autumn and spring. Hands down, the best musical of all time. This movie is magic!
I think I was about 16 when I first saw it with my brother Vince (he was 11) and we fell in love with it instantly. We watched it all of the time and every time was a quote/sing-a-long. It was so much fun. I don't remember us ever bonding over a movie like that before or since.
I particularly remember us using the "a-b" function on the remote to create a loop of Lina Lamont getting that pie in the kisser. We had to redo it so many times to get it just so. The end result was Kathy seemingly using her hand to magically hit Lina in the face with a pie over and over and over again. We were laughing so hard, I think we kept that loop on for a half hour.

That's pretty close! Good job, Tumblr. |
Isn't it gorgeous? Donald O'Connor's eyes, Gene Kelly's voice/smile/legs/ass, Debbie Reynolds's baby face and you haven't even seen Cyd Charisse's legs!
Out of all the characters, I enjoyed Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) the most. She was so so funny. I remember the first time I saw it, I was like "Damn Don! Let the woman talk!" Then she opens the flood gates back stage and you hear that horrible voice for the first time. I'm gonna have to watch this when I get home today.

Ooo! I just remembered today is the Short Indies! I can't wait to tell you guys all about it. Have a happy week!
