SXSW 2012

I've only been to SXSW a few times but it has definitely become a tradition for me from this day forward. The first time I went was in 2007. I got to see the Octopus Project and was blown away by the incredible talent of St. Vincent.
This year was a lot of fun. James and I drove down last Thursday afternoon  to catch our friends' band $50 Dynasty. Very very talented guys I went to school with back in Bandera, TX. Sadly, we missed their show due to traffic. I even got off of work early to accommodate traffic but we still didn't make it. We caught up with them and did some bar hopping. I was trying to slyly take some pictures of cute outfits I saw walking by.
If it isn't weird, it isn't Austin.

I actually took part in the festivities on two different days. On Saturday (St. Patrick's Day) my good friends Megan and Gabe accompanied me on the Capital Metro Rail to downtown Austin. It was my first time and I can't wait to take advantage of that again. So easy and fast. You don't have to worry about finding or paying for parking. It was great.
Megan + Gabe = Adorable

We had lunch at the Iron Cactus and then took a bus down to South Congress to catch a free Ben Kweller show!!! I could not stop taking pictures of them but I was finally able to select a few to share.

"Wasted & Ready"

"Mean to Me" off their new album Go Fly a Kite
This was awesome! A fan jumped on stage and he let her stick around and sing the last song with him. So cute!
